Publish faceless Shorts to YouTube.

Connect a channel once. ShortLoom generates the 9:16 video, then posts it over YouTube's official API - from Library, on a schedule, or from Series. Same pipeline as TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels.

1

Have a YouTube channel on the Google account

The Google login you connect must already own a YouTube channel. ShortLoom cannot create one for you - make the channel on youtube.com first, then come back.

2

Connect in Settings → Social accounts

YouTube's official OAuth asks for upload and read-your-own-channel. Approve both. A readonly-only grant shows as connected and then every publish fails - reconnect and include upload. You can connect more than one YouTube channel on the same workspace.

3

Generate a vertical video

Director Mode drafts the script and every scene for free and shows the credit cost. Approve to render a 9:16 MP4. Rejecting the draft costs nothing.

4

Publish from Library, Schedule, or Series

Pick the connected channel, add a title and caption, and confirm. The file goes from ShortLoom to YouTube over the official API - no download-then-reupload on your machine. The same path posts to TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels when those accounts are connected too.

What this page does not claim

Uploads from ShortLoom are Private until YouTube approves the API client's content audit. We do not inject a #Shorts hashtag; YouTube classifies a qualifying vertical video on its own. Analytics for posts published through ShortLoom refresh daily from YouTube's reporting - not a live API read on every dashboard open. There is no publish to an unconnected account.

Common questions

Can ShortLoom publish directly to YouTube?
Yes. Connect a YouTube channel in Settings → Social accounts, then publish a finished video from Library, queue it in Schedule, or let a Series post on its cadence. The REST API and MCP server use the same connected-account flow.
Will the video be public straight away?
Not by default. YouTube restricts unaudited API clients, so ShortLoom uploads land as Private until YouTube approves this app's content audit. After that, public posting can be switched on. Instagram Reels already publish publicly; TikTok Series posts stay 'Only me' under the same unaudited-client rule.
Does the Google account need a YouTube channel first?
Yes. If channels.list returns none, the connect flow refuses rather than saving a dead connection. Create the channel on youtube.com, then reconnect.
Why does a connected account fail to publish?
Usually the grant is youtube.readonly without youtube.upload, or the access token has expired. Reconnect and approve upload. ShortLoom flags a connection that needs reauth instead of leaving a silent 'Connected' badge.
Can a Series auto-post to YouTube?
Yes. Point the series at a connected YouTube channel and it publishes on that cadence. Quality checks can hold a finished episode back from auto-publishing (the credits for a finished video still apply) so you can review it first.
