Veo 3.1 vs Seedance vs Kling

ShortLoom runs Seedance, Kling, and Veo 3.1 today. This page is the live picker list - not a ranking, not a model we do not ship.

1

Stay on Cinematic in Create

The engine picker is a Cinematic option. Avatar, UGC, Scale, and Hybrid do not take a named Seedance or Veo pick, and Cinematic 4K cannot stack with one.

2

Leave Standard, or open the picker

Standard (default ladder) is 3 credits per 30s - Seedance, then Kling. That ladder is not a picker button on purpose: changing the registry cannot change default behaviour.

3

Read the quote before you approve

Seedance 2.5 and Veo 3.1 each have a credit cost per 30s on the picker. Director Mode drafts the script and scenes for free. Credits are reserved only when you approve.

4

Cinematic 4K is a separate Pro toggle

Cinematic 4K is 12 credits per 30s, Pro only. It is Kling (native 4K), not a Seedance or Veo picker row.

Seedance 2.5

The premium Seedance family in the cinematic picker. 720p is the direct ARK route and can take a character reference image. 480p and 1080p run the same model at those resolutions. Any paid plan.

Seedance 2.5 (720p)
720p · Any paid plan · clips 5/10s · character reference
15 credits / 30s
Seedance 2.5 (480p)
480p · Any paid plan · clips 5/10s
9 credits / 30s
Seedance 2.5 (1080p)
1080p · Any paid plan · clips 5/10s
42 credits / 30s

Veo 3.1

Google Veo 3.1 as three picker speeds (Lite, Fast, Quality), all at 720p. Clips are 4, 6, or 8 seconds - not the default 5/10 grid. Ratios are 9:16 and 16:9 only; 1:1 is refused. Pro, or a paid plan on a team workspace.

Veo 3.1 Fast
720p · Pro or a team workspace · clips 4/6/8s · 9:16 or 16:9
6 credits / 30s
Veo 3.1
720p · Pro or a team workspace · clips 4/6/8s · 9:16 or 16:9

Veo 3.1 Lite
720p · Pro or a team workspace · clips 4/6/8s · 9:16 or 16:9
6 credits / 30s

Kling, outside the picker

Kling is already in the product. It is not a Seedance-style family of enabled picker buttons. The default cinematic ladder tries Seedance first and falls back to Kling. Cinematic 4K is 12 credits per 30s, Pro only, and is Kling (native 4K).

Registry rows named Kling 3.0, Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro, and Kling 2.1 Master stay disabled. They have no founder quality canary, so they are not a choice you can approve.

What this page does not claim

This is not a "best AI video model" ranking. ShortLoom does not sell Sora. Premium engines cost more than the standard 3 credits per 30s and the picker shows that number before charge. Failed renders are refunded. 1080p Seedance is priced at the list-price floor, not a limited-time discount.

Common questions

Does ShortLoom use Veo 3.1?
Yes. Veo 3.1 Lite, Fast, and Quality are enabled picker engines at 720p. They need Pro or a paid plan on a team workspace. Clips are 4, 6, or 8 seconds, and the ratio must be 9:16 or 16:9.
Does ShortLoom use Seedance 2.5?
Yes. Seedance 2.5 is the premium Seedance family in the picker: 480p, 720p, and 1080p. Any paid plan. 720p can take a character reference image; the 480p and 1080p rungs do not.
Does ShortLoom use Kling?
Yes, in two places that are not picker rows. The default cinematic ladder submits Seedance then falls back to Kling. Cinematic 4K is a Kling-direct native 4K render, Pro only. Named Kling 3.0 / 2.5 Turbo rows exist in the registry and stay disabled until a founder quality canary - they are not a choice on the picker today.
Which engine is best?
ShortLoom does not rank them. Pick by plan gate, resolution, clip length, and the credit quote on the picker. The default ladder is the standard 30-second cinematic price; premium picks cost more and say so before you approve.
Can I pick Sora, Kling 3.0, or Seedance 2.0?
No. Those are not enabled picker engines. The live list is Seedance 2.5 and Veo 3.1, plus the default Seedance-then-Kling ladder and Pro Cinematic 4K.
