A quiet month on ShortLoom does not throw away the plan you already paid for. Unused monthly credits carry into the next cycle, packs never expire, and a failed render refunds automatically.

Monthly credits roll over

Unused subscription credits move into rollover at renewal instead of expiring. There is no cap on how far they build up while you stay subscribed - a quiet month carries the full allowance into the next one.

Oldest balance spends first

A render draws rolled-over credits first, then this cycle's monthly allowance, then pack credits last. That is why the monthly number can look untouched after a render if you were carrying rollover.

Packs never expire

Credit packs bought from Settings → Billing never expire and survive plan changes in either direction. They sit behind rollover and the current allowance, so they are the last balance spent.

Failed renders come back

Credits are reserved when a render starts and refunded automatically if it does not finish. You are only charged for a video that completes.

Monthly subscription credits roll over instead of expiring for as long as you are subscribed. Pack credits never expire. There is no cap on how far monthly credits can build up while the subscription is active.

A standard cinematic 30-second video costs 3 credits. Starter's 25 credits/month buy about 8 of those; Growth's 60 buy about 20; Pro's 150 buy about 50. Longer, 4K, and talking-avatar videos cost more.
What happens to credits if I cancel?
You keep monthly, rollover, and pack balances until the paid period actually ends. The account then drops to Free rather than cutting off the moment you click cancel.
Do credit packs upgrade my plan?
No. A pack is a one-off top-up on the plan you already have. It does not change your tier, unlock talking-avatar or 4K, or replace a subscription.
