Getting started

What is ShortLoom?+

ShortLoom is an AI video generator that turns a topic or idea into a finished short vertical video. It writes the script, generates the visuals, adds a natural AI voiceover, background music, and burned-in captions, so you get a ready-to-post video without filming or editing.

How does ShortLoom work?+

Pick a video type, enter your topic or idea, and choose a voice and style. ShortLoom then generates the script, creates the scenes, records the voiceover, and assembles everything into a vertical MP4. Most videos are ready in a few minutes.

Do I need any video editing or design skills?+

No. ShortLoom is built for people with zero editing experience. You describe what you want and the AI handles the script, visuals, voice, music, and captions for you.

Is ShortLoom free to try?+

Signing up is free and needs no card. To generate your first video, start Starter's 7-day trial - 6 credits, enough for 2 standard cinematic 30-second videos, no watermark. Longer videos and premium engines cost more than the trial covers. It renews into the regular plan afterward.

What do I need to create my first video?+

Just an idea. Type a topic, choose a style and voice, and ShortLoom does the rest - it writes the script, generates the visuals, adds a voiceover and captions, and renders the video.

How long does it take to make a video?+

Most videos finish rendering in minutes. Longer or more complex videos can take a little more time, and you can keep working while they render.

Creating videos

What kinds of videos can I make?+

Faceless content of all kinds: motivational clips, history and science explainers, scary stories, Reddit stories, fun facts, quizzes, listicles, UGC-style ads, and more. ShortLoom adapts the script, visuals, and voice to the format you choose.

Can I choose the voice?+

Yes. ShortLoom offers a range of natural AI voices, and you can preview each one before generating. The delivery is matched to your video style, so a calm story sounds different from a high-energy ad.

Can I edit the script before the video is made?+

Yes, if you ask for it. Tick Read the script before rendering and ShortLoom writes the script and plans each scene for free, then shows you the hook, the voiceover and each scene's prompt with the exact cost locked in. Edit anything, approve to render, or reject and pay nothing. Leave it unticked and ShortLoom goes straight to the finished video, which spends credits at once, and that is the default. After a render you can also regenerate a single scene instead of the whole video.

What aspect ratios are supported?+

ShortLoom creates vertical 9:16 video by default, which is ideal for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts. Square 1:1 and landscape 16:9 outputs are also available for other platforms.

How are the captions added?+

Captions are generated automatically and burned into the video, word by word, in a bold karaoke style that keeps viewers watching. They are timed to the voiceover so they always stay in sync.

Can I add background music?+

Yes. You pick a named royalty-free bed (or none) from the library on disk. It is mixed under the voiceover; you cannot upload your own track.

Can I make videos in languages other than English?+

The interface and our guides are available in several languages. Voiceover language options are expanding, so check the voice selector in the editor for the latest list when you create a video.

What is a UGC Ad video?+

A UGC Ad is a user-generated-content style ad: a smartphone-style clip in the native-to-feed format people associate with creator recommendations. ShortLoom generates the script and footage in that style with AI - use it to present your product, not to fabricate a testimonial from someone who never used it.

Series & automation

What is Series mode?+

Series mode lets you set up a recurring theme once and have ShortLoom generate a fresh video on that theme automatically, on a schedule you choose. It is built for creators who want to post consistently without starting from scratch each day.

How does daily autopilot work?+

You define the topic, style, and voice for a Series, and ShortLoom produces a new video each cycle using credits from your balance. You can review each video before it goes out.

Can I set the posting schedule?+

Yes. You choose how often new videos in a Series are generated. You can adjust or pause the schedule at any time.

Can I pause or edit a Series?+

Yes. A Series can be paused, edited, or deleted whenever you like from your dashboard, and any change applies to future videos.

Publishing & ownership

Can I download my videos?+

Yes. Every finished video can be downloaded as an MP4 so you can post it anywhere you like.

Is there a watermark on my videos?+

The $1 / 7-day trial and paid plans export without a watermark. Your videos are clean and branded as your own.

Can I post directly to TikTok, YouTube, or Instagram?+

You can download any video, or connect YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok and ShortLoom posts each new video on your schedule. YouTube stays private and TikTok stays Only me, on a private TikTok account, until each platform approves this app. With Series Mode you can review every video before publishing, or enable autopilot.

Do I own the videos I create?+

Yes. Videos you generate with ShortLoom are yours to use. You are responsible for making sure your topic and any inputs you provide respect third-party rights.

Can I use the videos commercially?+

Yes. Videos you generate with ShortLoom - on any plan, including the paid trial - can be used for commercial purposes, including ads and monetized channels.

Plans & credits

How do credits work?+

Each video you generate uses credits from your balance. New accounts start with 0 credits; starting a plan or its trial is what grants your first batch, and paid plans then include a monthly allowance that rolls over.

What happens to my credit if a video fails?+

You are never charged for a failed render. If a video errors out, the credit is automatically refunded to your balance so you only pay for videos you actually receive.

What plans does ShortLoom offer?+

ShortLoom offers a 7-day paid trial to get started plus paid plans with more monthly credits and no watermark. You can see current pricing on the Pricing page.

Can I cancel anytime?+

Yes. You can cancel your subscription whenever you want from your account, and you keep access until the end of your current billing period.

How do referrals work?+

Share your referral link and when a friend signs up, you both receive bonus credits. It is the easiest way to earn extra videos for free.

Account & privacy

How do I sign in?+

You can sign in with Google, with Microsoft, or with an email address and password. Google and Microsoft are one click and leave you no extra password to manage; email works everywhere else, including the domains those two do not cover.

Is my data safe?+

Your account and content are stored securely and are only accessible to you. We do not sell your personal data. See our Privacy page for full details.

How do I delete my account?+

You can request account deletion from your account settings or by contacting support, and your data will be removed.

Troubleshooting

My video has no voice or no subtitles+

This is rare and usually resolves on a re-generate. If a render completes without audio or captions, generate it again, and remember that failed or incomplete renders are refunded so you are not charged.

My video is taking longer than expected+

Most videos finish in a few minutes, but heavy demand can add some time. You can safely leave the page and come back, and you will be notified when the video is ready.

A voice preview will not play+

Make sure your browser sound is on and not muted for the tab. If a preview still does not play, refresh the page and try a different voice.

I ran out of credits+

Buy a one-time credit pack, wait for your renewal, or upgrade your plan for more monthly credits. Your balance and options are shown in your dashboard.
