How ShortLoom's AI video generation works

A topic goes in; a finished, captioned, voiced short video comes out. Tick Review first to see the script before credits move. Here's the actual pipeline.

Draft
On the website, Generate spends credits immediately unless you tick Review first. The API and MCP default to a free draft, and credits move only when you approve. A Series episode is charged when it generates.
Time
Most short videos are ready in minutes.
Languages
70+ languages
Publishing
TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels (Facebook Reels coming soon)

The pipeline

1

You give it a topic

A topic, an idea, a source article/PDF, a product page or App Store URL, or a full script - whatever you start from, no camera and no footage to film or upload. A website is a starting point for the brief, not a claim that the page is today's inventory.

2

Review first shows the script before credits move

On the website, Generate spends credits immediately unless you tick Review first. The API and MCP default to a free draft, and credits move only when you approve. A Series episode is charged when it generates.

3

Scenes, voiceover, and captions generate

6 video styles, 9 AI voices (8 more in French), and generation in 70+ languages - cinematic AI scenes, a natural voiceover, background music, and burned-in captions assembled into one finished vertical video.

4

It publishes on your schedule

Post it yourself, schedule it, or hand the whole channel to autopilot with Series mode - all from one dashboard, publishing to TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels (Facebook Reels coming soon). YouTube Series posts stay Private and TikTok Series posts stay Only me until each platform approves the API client's content audit; Instagram Reels publish publicly.

What this page does not claim

Autopilot still publishes. YouTube uploads from ShortLoom land as Private, and TikTok Series posts stay Only me, until each platform approves the API client's content audit. Instagram Reels already publish publicly. This is not a claim that Series posts are public by default. A pasted website is a starting point for the brief, not the current product. This is not a talking-avatar studio, post-to-sale attribution, or warmed social accounts, and it does not promise reach.

Common questions

Do I need to film or upload any footage?
No. Every scene is AI-generated from your topic (or a source article/PDF you provide) - there's no camera, no footage to shoot, and nothing to upload.
How long does it take to generate a video?
Most short videos are ready in minutes.
Do I get charged before I see the script?
On the website, Generate spends credits immediately unless you tick Review first. The API and MCP default to a free draft, and credits move only when you approve. A Series episode is charged when it generates.
What happens if a render fails?
Failed renders are refunded automatically - you're never charged for a video that didn't finish.
Can it publish automatically without me reviewing each video?
Yes. Series mode can run on full autopilot - generating and publishing to TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels (Facebook Reels coming soon) on a schedule with no manual step, with quality checks that hold a video back from auto-publishing (while still costing its credits, same as any finished video) if something looks wrong, so you can review it manually first. Autopilot is not public-by-default: YouTube Series posts stay Private and TikTok Series posts stay Only me until each platform's content audit; Instagram Reels publish publicly.
Will this make a video go viral?
No. ShortLoom writes and renders a video. Reach depends on the topic, the channel, and the platform. There is no reach-outcome promise.
Is this a talking-avatar studio?
No. The core product is faceless cinematic video. UGC presenters and a talking-avatar mode exist as options, not as a 1,500-actor library.
Does posting a video attribute a sale on my website?
No. Publishing to YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram is not web conversion attribution. Facebook Pages are coming soon pending Meta App Review. A product URL is a starting point for the brief, not a current inventory or a post-to-sale tracker.
Do you provide warmed social accounts?
No. You connect your own YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram. Facebook Pages are coming soon. ShortLoom does not sell or warm accounts.
Can I turn a PDF, URL, or blog post into a short video?
Yes. A topic, a source article or PDF, a product page, or a full script are all valid starting points. A website is a brief, not a claim that the page is today's inventory. There is no dedicated podcast-clipper: if you already have a long recording, a repurposing tool is the better job - see /best/ai-video-repurposing-tools.
